About Aquastars Swim School

Aquastars is an award-winning family business based in Warners Bay, NSW, just east of Lake Macquarie. Current owner Belynda Rocha took the reins in 2017, after her own children completed swim-survival courses and following a 17-year career as a Sydney police officer.

Belynda completed major renovations to the Aquastars facility in 2018. Since then, Belynda and her husband Toby have established Aquastars as one of the region’s leading swim schools, and their special emphasis on child safety has earned them national recognition.

We are the only swim school in the Hunter Region to offer dedicated swim survival lessons. Our unique approach teaches children as young as six months old everything they need to know to keep themselves safe, even if they fall accidentally into the water. By focusing exclusively on swim safety, we are able to teach life-saving skills in weeks. Once a child has a firm grasp of safety fundamentals, they are more confident in the water, making each step into the pool more fun and each lesson more productive.

All of our classes, from swim survival to junior squad and adult lessons, are taught by highly trained instructors in a welcoming family atmosphere. Many are overseen by our family dog, Bailey, who joins us regularly at the swim centre.

We offer swimming classes seven days a week in our purpose-built, 31-degree pool. Our facilities employ the latest filtration technology and use a combination of ultraviolet light and ozone to maintain cleaner water than chlorine and other chemical treatments can, without the harsh side effects. Our facilities are accredited by healthyswim, and are regularly monitored by a leading third-party testing facility.
